 Automatic Friction Abrasion Analyzer, Triboster TSf-series

Triboster TSf-series are the series of instruments for measuring Coefficient of Static/Kinetic Friction with computer controlled and analyzed system. Every model can change the conditions of vertical loading, travel speed, and kinds of contact parts. The variations of coefficient of friction over the times of cycles and the temperature control can be performed by some of the models.



 What is friction ?


Versatile model with Bowden method (travel system of horizontal linear reciprocating motion). All application software are built in. Repetitive static friction measurements is unique function for this model only. Temperature control is possible with heater type stage at option.

Specialty model with disk rotational system. It equips rotatable Φ150mm round stage and measures disk samples while rotating the stage.   TSf-500D


Specialty model with cylinder rotational system. It equips a customized device to hold and rotate cylindrical samples and measures cylindrical samples while rotating it. Cylinder of diameter Φ10 - Φ100mm x 300(L) is supposed.   TSf-500R

Separating an arm into two for supporting weight and detecting force enabled the measuring sensitivity better.

-  Eliminate the load to the load cell upon setting a weight on the arm.

Major operations are displayed by icons. Dialog interface system is adopted and the navigations make the operations ease and eliminate the errors of conditions/parameters setting.

The setting conditions, and data and chart in measuring are displayed at real time.

Multiple data sheets can be displayed, which allows operator to compare the data of different time or different conditions.

Measurements in both ways: This mode obtains coefficient of friction data in both ways of stage travel. It can reduce time 

  when measuring numbers of cycles.

Function of lifting contact part can be selected when measuring with one way mode. The contact part is lifted

  automatically in the return travel of stage. 

Repetitive static friction measurements: Move and stop are repeated at this mode and 12 data of coefficient of static

  friction are obtained in a stroke.

Standard repeat measurements: Both static and kinetic coefficients of frictions are measured repeatedly on same

  measuring area. (up to 12 cycles)

-  Change sample measurements: for comparison of data with different samples or different areas of a sample

Dependency on repeat: continuous reciprocating measurements to evaluate change of coefficient of friction with cycles.

  The data can show wear of surface in the view of friction. (Max. 10,000 cycles)

Dependency on weight: for study how coefficient of friction changes by change of vertical loading

Dependency on speed: for study how coefficient of friction changes by changing moving speed

Dependency on stop-time: This shows the coefficient of friction changes with elapsed time of surface. The stage repeats

  moving and stopping for a specified time interval.
